"Ash Tree Meadow"

After much thought about the name for this blog, I decided to name it after my daughter, whose name, Ashley, means "ash tree meadow." When we searched through the baby-name book, we didn't place any significance on the meanings of the names we chose: we simply chose what we liked. But, now that Ashley is "on the outside," I think the meaning of her name suits her. My internal image of a meadow dotted with ash trees is a tranquil, beautiful scene. That's my Ashley. She is more lovely than we could have hoped and, except for the occasional crying jag, is a peaceful baby who seems quite content being parented by two novices.
